Winter hikers can choose from no less than 185km of cleared winter walking paths leading from the holiday resort of Haiming to Obergurgl-Hochgurgl and Vent.

Picturesque trails and paths across snowy forests, meadows and fields leading along the frozen Ötztal Ache river. Passionate ice climbers can take full advantage of the frozen waterfalls, and the whole family will have plenty of fun on the frozen Piburger See lake. Peace and silence in abundance - A very special experience also for the little ones!

Tobogganing - Tobogganing is such a fun leisure activity for both young and old. Right amidst usnpoilt nature you make a thrilling experience of a vey special kind. Up and down, fast and furious! Everyone is happy to reach the valley.

Nordic Skiing in the Ötztal - 185 km skating & classic routes - Cross-country skiers of all skill levels find a real Nordic skiing heaven on a huge 185 km network of trails for both classic-style Nordic skiers and skaters, comprising the high-altitude tracks of Niederthai and Gries / Längenfeld or the wide open valley basins of Längenfeld and Umhausen.

Ice Skating - The wonderful ice arena at lake Piburgersee makes a truly unique experience for the whole family: the 2 km long and 4 m wide natural ice course (cleared and swept) offers everything a passionate ice skater's heart could possibly desire. For a warm-up you are strongly recommended to visit one of the quaint inns located in the romantic hamlet of Piburg.
